I have been writing ever since I was in elementary school, and first attempted to write a novel at the age of ten. It was inevitable that I would attend the Savannah College of Art and Design, to receive a major in “sequential art” (a fancy term for comics) and a minor in creative writing. Life and a master’s program happened, and I wound up as a middle school English teacher for a brief time. Nowadays I work in educating kids of all ages at Space Camp. Because space is cool.
As someone who has been writing for a long time, I’m obsessed with the science of storytelling. I often find myself lost in the rabbit hole that is TV Tropes, learning useless terms like “Tomato Surprise” and “Applied Phlebotinum.” (The title of my home page may or may not be the title of a TV Tropes article. I apologize. Sort of.)
